Michelle Mitchell focuses the majority of her practice in complex insurance coverage matters. She provides advice and counseling on coverage issues and has been involved in litigating and mediating coverage disputes in jurisdictions across the country. Ms. Mitchell also has substantial experience in health law matters with a particular emphasis in regulatory counseling, complex commercial litigation and civil defense litigation including personal injury defense. She has worked on a variety of state and federal litigations and arbitrations.

In 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2010, Ms. Mitchell was recognized by Minnesota Law & Politics and included on their Rising Stars list. Recipients of this award have practiced law for less than 10 years or are 40 years old or younger. Ms. Mitchell joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in April 2004. Previously she was an associate at Cousineau, McGuire & Anderson, Minneapolis, where she was actively involved in all phases of litigation.

Ms. Mitchell is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Ms. Mitchell is active in her community and coaches both youth soccer and basketball. Michelle enjoys the outdoors and, in particular, playing sports of all kinds and training for marathons, and is passionate about encouraging youth participation in sports of all kinds. She lives in a Victorian home in Crocus Hill, St. Paul, with her husband and two children.
