Monica Cronin is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer who focuses her practice in defense of professional liability matters.

Having served as staff attorney with the Honorable Chief Judge Gerald B. Cope, Jr. of the Florida Third District Court of Appeal for 12-years, Ms. Cronin has substantial experience analyzing all areas of civil and criminal law.

As a commercial litigator in private practice for eight years prior, Ms. Cronin was involved in all aspects of trial practice, from drafting pleadings, legal memoranda and briefs for state and federal trial and appellate courts to attendance at trials, hearings, depositions and oral arguments.
Professional Background
Ms. Cronin joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in January 2007. Previously she was a law clerk and career attorney for the Honorable Chief Judge Gerald B. Cope, Jr., Third District Court of Appeal. In that position, she reviewed briefs and the appellate record, researched issues of law, and drafted memoranda in all areas of civil and criminal law.

Ms. Cronin began her legal career in 1986, first as a litigation associate with Shutts & Brown in Miami and then with Valdes-Fauli, Cobb & Bischoff, P.A. from 1988 to 1994.

Ms. Cronin is a member of The Florida Bar. She was a member of its Young Lawyers’ Division Board from 1990 to 1994.
Community Service Activities
Ms. Cronin is active in her community. She has been the Leader of Girl Scout Troop 382 since 2000. She is a past vice president of the Palmetto Elementary Parent Teacher Association, and a past member of the Board of Directors of CHARLEE of Dade County Inc. and the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind.

In addition, Ms. Cronin is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Miami.
