Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP partner, Thomas Y. Mandler, was featured in a July 22, 2008, The AmLaw Daily article, "Chicago Am Law 200 Lawyer Bidding for Cubs Ownership." The article reports that Mr. Mandler, a member of Hinshaw’s Labor & Employment practice group and the firm’s Executive Committee, is part of a group which has submitted a preliminary bid to purchase the Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball franchise. The article further indicates that the auction book lists for sale the Cubs, Wrigley Field, and a 25 percent stake in Comcast Chicago, which broadcasts many Cubs and other Chicago sports teams’ games. Mr. Mandler is also reported to be lead counsel for this group.
