Lechtenberg and Wilke Included on List of the Nation’s Most Powerful Employment Attorneys

ROCKFORD, Ill. and FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.Penelope M. Lechtenberg and Cheryl Wilke, respectively Partners in Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP’s Rockford, Illinois, and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, offices, have been included in a ranking of the top employment lawyers in the United States. “The Nation's Most Powerful Employment Attorneys—Up-and-Comers” list, which consists of 40 lawyers, was prepared by Lawdragon, a prominent legal media company. It appeared in the June 16, 2011, issue of Human Resource Executive magazine.

Lawdragon created its list through a combination of online balloting, independent research and a vetting of recent cases and activity. Hinshaw is one of only five law firms to have more than one lawyer included on the “Up-and-Comers” list, which includes labor and employment lawyers who are likely to break into Lawdragon's Top 100 or specialized, Top 20 lists soon.

Ms. Lechtenberg represents management in labor and employment law matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. She provides employers with practical advice on all day-to-day employment-related issues as well. Ms. Lechtenberg also maintains a substantial business and personal immigration practice. She advises corporate and individual clients in immigration matters involving U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, Department of Labor and Department of State, from immigration petitions to audits and workplace investigations.

Ms. Wilke, a co-leader of one of Hinshaw’s Business Transactions Departments, represents employers in labor and employment matters, including litigation of FLSA, Title VII and retaliatory cases. She also provides comprehensive risk management programs for her clients and counsels on all aspects of employer / employee relations, including business litigation, regulatory compliance, employment defense litigation and workers’ compensation matters. Additionally, Ms. Wilke practices in the area of high-dollar commercial litigation and collections and services. In addition to her trial work, Ms. Wilke also handles all of the firm’s workers’ compensation appellate cases.
