CHICAGO ― Hinshaw Partner, Tomislav Z. Kuzmanovic, will be a guest lecturer at Northwestern Law School on Monday, October 20, 2008, from Noon to 1:30 p.m. He will speak about his experiences at the (ICTY), in The Hague, Netherlands.
The lecture is being jointly sponsored by the Northwestern University Journal of International Human Rights and Northwestern Law School’s Center for International Human Rights. It is open to the entire law school community.
Mr. Kuzmanovic is currently representing Croatian General Mladen Markac in a trial before the ICTY. Mr. Markac has been charged with crimes committed during the “Operation Storm” military offensive in Croatia, which lasted from August 4, 1995 to November 15, 1995. Kuzmanovic, who was awarded the Order of the Croatian “Pleter” by former Croatian President Franjo Tudjman for his contributions toward Croatia’s independence, has already successfully defended two defendants before the ICTY.
