Kristina Marsh focuses much of her practice on matters involving both first and third party insurance coverage. She represents numerous insurers throughout the state of Florida. Ms. Marsh handles all phases of such matters, from consultations and opinions to litigation and appeals. She has been involved in several noteworthy cases involving breach of an insurance contract and interpretation of the terms, conditions, and exclusions contained within an insurance policy. Ms. Marsh focuses on avoiding the expense and risk of coverage litigation for her clients, if possible. Where litigation is necessary, she looks for ways to achieve an early resolution and minimize expense.
A large percentage of Ms. Marsh's practice focuses on defending first party property coverage claims and defending insurers in sinkhole matters. She represents some of the largest writers of sinkhole coverage in Florida. Ms. Marsh has successfully defended and litigated hundreds of sinkhole claims for authorized insurers, surplus lines insurers, and reinsurers. She is well-versed in the Insurance Code, and, more particularly, those sections of the Insurance Code which specifically address sinkhole claims and investigations. Ms. Marsh leads a team of professionals in the Tampa office whose purpose is to provide service to numerous insurers and self-insured clients, with an eye toward cost-effective resolution of sinkhole litigation.
In addition to her substantial background in first party property coverage litigation, Ms. Marsh devotes a percentage of her practice to complex liability defense, commercial litigation, construction defect litigation, products liability litigation, and large property loss subrogation.
Ms. Marsh joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in October 2007. Previously she worked for six years as a senior associate at Butler Pappas Weihmuller Katz Craig LLP in Tampa. Prior to that, she spent a year as an associate at Abbey, Adams, Byelick, Kiernan, L.L.P., in St. Petersburg, practicing in the area of workers compensation defense.
During law school, Ms. Marsh clerked for the Office of the Attorney General in Lansing, Michigan, and was a certified legal intern in the Civil Litigation Department of the Office of the Attorney General, in Tampa. In addition to her other law school accomplishments, Ms. Marsh was Staff Editor of
Michigan Opinion Notes. She was a member of the national and intra-school moot court teams, and served as Executive Lieutenant Governor, of the American Bar Association Law Student Division.
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Marsh worked in human resources management.
Ms. Marsh is a member of The Florida Bar, Hillsborough County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Ms. Marsh is a member of the “Thieves of San Lorenzo,” a Tampa Bay-based krewe that gives back to the community through various charities and fundraisers.
