Jody A. Tuttle

Practice Focus
Jody Tuttle focuses her practice in the representation of insurers in complex insurance coverage disputes. Her emphasis is in liability coverage, analyzing issues ranging from the duty to defend to exhaustion to priority of coverage under a variety of policies, including CGL, commercial auto, commercial property, legal and medical E&O, as well as commercial excess and commercial umbrella policies.

In her practice, Ms. Tuttle has prepared coverage opinions and position letters in a number of states, focusing principally on Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and North Carolina. She also frequently uses her background in residential planning and growth in evaluating an array of coverage issues presented in claims by developers and contractors under CGL, OCIP, CCIP, and builder's risk policies.
Professional Background
Ms. Tuttle joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in May 2005. Previously she was an associate with the boutique firm of Pyszka, Blackmon, Levy, Mowers & Kelley.

While in law school, Ms. Tuttle was an Academic Achievement Program Dean’s Fellow, working with first-year law students in contracts law. In addition to her other law school achievements, Ms. Tuttle was a member of the Dean’s List. She received a Dean’s Certificate of Achievement for the Highest Grade in Contracts and received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship from 2001 to 2004. Ms. Tuttle was also a quarterfinalist in the First Year Moot Court Competition.

During her master’s study, Ms. Tuttle was an Environmental Growth Management Fellow, researching and documenting the relationship between residential developers and the growth management community. Ms. Tuttle also was a graduate intern with the South Florida Water Management District. While an undergraduate, she worked as an intern in the offices of The Honorable Joseph R. Biden, Jr., United States Senator (D-Del).

Ms. Tuttle is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and The Florida Bar.
