Jennifer L. Steinmetz

Jennifer Steinmetz is a litigator who focuses her practice in complex civil litigation with an emphasis on toxic torts defense, products liability, commercial litigation and general liability litigation.

Ms. Steinmetz represents a wide array of manufacturers, distributors and insurers. She has substantial experience in counseling and representing clients in numerous state and federal courts around the country, as a significant part of her practice in recent years has been devoted to serving on a team of national trial counsel for a flavor ingredient distributor.
Professional Background
Ms. Steinmetz joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP as a law clerk in June 2000, and has been a practicing attorney at the firm since November 2001. She is a member of firm’s Hiring Committee, and serves as the Chicago office coordinator for Hinshaw’s mentorship program. Ms. Steinmetz is a past member of Hinshaw’s HIPAA Compliance Committee.

She is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.

Community Service Activities
Ms. Steinmetz is an active volunteer for the chILD Foundation, an organization that provides support, education and hope to families affected with pediatric interstitial and diffuse lung diseases. The chILD Foundation advocates to raise funds for scientific research to cure these diseases. Ms. Steinmetz organizes events and fundraisers to support this charitable cause.
