John E. Sebastian, a Respected Surety and Construction Law Attorney, Joins the Chicago Office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

Chicago, January 18, 2005 Attorney John E. Sebastian has joined the Chicago office of national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP as a partner. Mr. Sebastian will join the firm’s established surety and construction law practice groups.

Mr. Sebastian is a litigator who has for the past decade focused his practice primarily in the areas of surety bond, construction and commercial litigation. His background includes an undergraduate degree in Construction Engineering followed by years of in-house and private practice experience.

Prior to joining Hinshaw, he was a shareholder with the law firm of Leo & Weber in Chicago. From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Sebastian was Associate Surety Counsel for Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. Prior to earning his legal degree, he worked as a Project Engineer for United Engineers and Constructors and IT Corporation.

In 2000, Mr. Sebastian served on the Steering Committee of the Fidelity and Surety Subcommittee of the Defense Research Institute. In 2002, he served as Liaison to Young Lawyers on the Construction Subcommittee of the Defense Research Institute. He is a member of the American Bar Association, TIPS Fidelity & Surety Law Committee, the Business Law Section and the Forum on the Construction Industry Subcommittee of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Sebastian received his J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1995 and his B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology from Purdue University in 1990.
