Jayme R. Matchinski

Practice Focus
Jayme Matchinski concentrates her practice on health care and corporate law. She handles regulatory compliance, reimbursement, licensure and certification issues affecting health care providers, health care transactions, and the purchase, sale and formation of health care entities. She has also successfully represented health care providers in reimbursement claims against insurance carriers and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Ms. Matchinski works with physicians, as well as not-for-profit and for-profit health care systems in the licensure, certification, legal structure and reimbursement structuring of post-acute venues of care, including sleep disorder centers, rehabilitation hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, long term acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Professional Background
Ms. Matchinski joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in February 2007. For a number of years Ms. Matchinski was in private practice. She is the former vice president of a national health care consulting firm.

While still in law school Ms. Matchinski served externships with the Air & Water Division of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as with the Honorable George W. Lindberg, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. In addition, Ms. Matchinski participated in a summer study program of law and economic policy at Ningbo University in the People’s Republic of China.
Ms. Matchinski is a member of the editorial advisory board of Sleep Diagnosis and Therapy Journal, and an advisory member of the board for the Sleep Center Management Institute in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ms. Matchinski is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys, as well as the Illinois State Bar Association.

Since 2005, Ms. Matchinski has been the author of “Legal Notes,” a column which appears in A2Zzz Magazine, a publication of the AAST. She covers regulatory, reimbursement, compliance, operational and contract issues that could potentially impact sleep disorder centers, including:

Community Service Activities
Ms. Matchinski is an active law school alumnus, participating in Valparaiso University School of Law’s alumni/law student networking and student development programs. She serves on the Chicago and National Councils for Valparaiso University School of Law.

In January 2011, Ms. Matchinski was re-elected for a second two-year term to the Board of Directors of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) Illinois Chapter. She has worked with the Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights to provide pro bono representation to individuals seeking political asylum.
