John A. Goldstein
John Goldstein is a highly experienced real estate and corporate attorney. His national practice includes diverse real estate transactions, including secured lending, land acquisitions and dispositions, contracts and leasing.
Mr. Goldstein devotes a majority of his legal practice to counseling clients on commercial real estate and secured lending transactions. His clients include national and state banks, as well as other lending institutions, insurance companies, museums, developers, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, landlords and tenants.
He guides his clients through the complexities of multi-state loan transactions involving multiple properties. Mr. Goldstein has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating commercial leases for regional shopping centers and developing leasing forms, which have become standard in the industry.
Mr. Goldstein represents developers in the structuring and negotiating of acquisitions, dispositions and financing of office buildings, shopping centers and industrial sites. He also represents landlords and tenants in leasing transactions involving both retail and office space located in Chicago and throughout the country.
Mr. Goldstein joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in February 2007. Previously he was a name partner at the Chicago law firm of Harris Kessler & Goldstein LLC.
He is a member and past president of the Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association.
Mr. Goldstein is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network, where he was selected by his peers as a Leading Lawyer in the area of Real Estate Law: Commercial. In addition, he holds the AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for ethics and legal ability.
Mr. Goldstein is a member and treasurer of The Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee, Chicago’s equivalent of the “Tony” Awards.
John is a bronze life master and qualified bridge teacher. He is President of District 13 of the American Contract Bridge League.
