John C. De Koker III

John De Koker focuses his practice in the areas of transportation litigation, construction litigation and commercial litigation.

Mr. De Koker’s clients include transportation companies, architects and engineers. He handles complex discovery, depositions, experts, trial, mediation and arbitration. Mr. De Koker has written and argued motions on issues such as the breach of implied warranty of habitability, contractual indemnification and the economic loss doctrine.

Formerly a paralegal, Mr. De Koker was a member of the trial team representing the building management company on the high-profile personal injury case involving the fire at the Cook County Administration Building in Chicago.
Professional Background
Mr. De Koker joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP as paralegal in March 2002 and became an associate in August 2007.

Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, he was an international trade paralegal for Weil, Gotshal & Manges and was a legislative intern in the United States Senate.

His professional memberships include the Chicago Bar Association.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. De Koker worked as a buyer for Salvage One, an antique and architectural artifact store in Chicago.

Community Service Activities
