PEORIA, Ill. ― The Illinois Senate has approved the appointment by Governor Pat Quinn of
Timothy J. Newlin to serve as Peoria County Public Administrator/Public Guardian. Mr. Newlin’s term runs for four years.
Mr. Newlin succeeds Thomas Trager in the role of Peoria County Public Administrator/Public Guardian. Mr. Trager held the position since 1984.
As public administrator, Mr. Newlin is charged with administering the estates of persons who die owning real or personal estate and for whom no person in Illinois has a prior right to administer the estate. He is also empowered to take such measures to protect estates of decedents who were nonresidents of Illinois. As public guardian, Mr. Newlin will assist disabled adults needing guardianship services by monitoring their care and administering their estates as necessary.
Mr. Newlin has handled estate-related matters since 1978. He was concentrated exclusively in estate-related matters when he served as an Assistant Vice President at National City Bank in Peoria, now known as PNC Bank, in the Estate Settlement Division of its Trust Department.
