Hinshaw Shoots Up Rankings on "The American Lawyer's" 2010 Diversity Scorecard

March 2, 2010
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP ranks 95th among the 249 largest and highest grossing law firms in The American Lawyer’s 2010 Diversity Scorecard. The firm ranked 107th in 2009. Among the eight law firms listed as having headquarters in Chicago, the firm ranked second on the 2010 Diversity Scorecard.

Making Hinshaw’s jump in the rankings achievement even more impressive is the fact that, as reported in the article, “One Step Back,” published in the March 2010 issue of The American Lawyer, the percentage of minority lawyers at large firms actually fell by .5 percent in 2009. As indicated in the 2010 Diversity Scorecard, 11.8 percent of Hinshaw’s attorneys and 6.8 percent of the firm’s partners are minorities.

Hinshaw has a longstanding commitment to ensuring that the firm reflects the diversity of the world in which its attorneys practice. With a formal Diversity Initiative led by Hinshaw’s Diversity Committee and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, the firm’s recruiting and hiring programs, partner promotions and management assignments reflect this result-oriented commitment to diversity.
