July 30, 2010
CHICAGO ― The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that it was ranked 12th among the top 166 U.S. law firms for its overall commitment to diversity, 7th in the category “Diversity for Minorities,” and 16th in the category, “LGBT Diversity” by Vault in its 2011 Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms. The firm was honored for these rankings at the 5th Annual Vault/MCCA Legal Diversity Career Fair in Washington, D.C. on July 30.

“These achievements are a testament to Hinshaw’s commitment to a culture of diversity and inclusion,” said Donald L. Mrozek, chairman of Hinshaw. “We recognize that these rankings are based upon the efforts of many individuals and groups. We would specifically like to recognize Leslie Richards-Yellen, our first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, for her hard work and leadership.”

“I am delighted by this news and know that our achievements would not have been possible were it not for the wonderful committee, team, group and individual efforts that are reflected in this recognition,” said Ms. Richards-Yellen.

Vault evaluates and ranks law firms in several areas, including Diversity, Practice Area and Quality of Life. Law firms considered for inclusion on the lists were ranked in four diversity categories, including Overall, Diversity with Respect to Minorities; GLBT; Women. Earlier this year, more than 15,000 law firm associates rated their employers on a variety of issues, including these four categories.
