CHICAGO ― For the second year in a row, the national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP has been awarded a 100% rating on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index, recognizing Hinshaw’s commitment to diversity through promoting and protecting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) rights. Hinshaw’s 100% rating marks it as one of HRC’s “Best Places to Work.”
The Corporate Equality Index measures how equitably large, private-sector businesses in the United States treat their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and, where applicable, investors. Hinshaw was among 97 law firms to obtain a 100% rating.
“We are proud to have once again received this tremendous distinction. It is a testament to Hinshaw’s culture of fairness and inclusion and our commitment to providing equal benefits and protections to all of the firm’s lawyers and staff,” said Hinshaw’s Chairman,
Donald L. Mrozek. Added
Leslie Richards-Yellen, Hinshaw’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, “Receiving a 100% rating on the HRC Corporate Equality Index reflects Hinshaw’s nationally recognized overall commitment to diversity.”
“We are proud of Hinshaw’s strong and longstanding efforts promoting diversity and inclusiveness and the firm’s commitment to supporting the GLBT community,” said
Todd M. Young, the chair of Hinshaw’s GLBT Affinity Network. The GLBT Affinity Network is one of five Hinshaw affinity networks, which work to enhance the firm’s diversity mission and goals. The group and its individual members are active in legal and business communities around the country, sponsoring, presenting and attending events as well as supporting causes of concern to their particular communities. Earlier this year, the GLBT Affinity Network sponsored and hosted a presentation on new developments in the Rules of Professional Conduct.
