Hinshaw Adds New Associates

Craig Waugh represents clients in commercial litigation, including foreclosures, bankruptcy, bank litigation and professional liability litigation. Mr. Waugh earned his J.D. in 2008 from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as Notes and Articles Editor for the Georgetown Journal of International Law.

John Meno focuses his practice in construction defect and personal injury defense. His clients include developers, general contractors, sub-contractors and their insurance carriers. Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Meno developed an extensive professional background in the construction industry. He also has substantial experience handling personal injury and creditors’ rights claims. Mr. Meno earned his J.D. in 2004 as a merit scholar from California Western School of Law.

Martin Stern is a skilled litigator, who represents clients in products liability, construction, automobile and trucking, hospitality, premises liability and personal injury litigation, and other general liability matters, including those involving wrongful death, contract, employer liability, arbitrations and subrogation claims. Mr. Stern is approved by the Florida Department of Financial Services to instruct continuing education classes for insurance adjusters and provide corporate training related to general lines of insurance. He has conducted training for the Association of Property & Casualty Claims Professionals (PCCP) and the South Florida Claims Association, among others. Mr. Stern earned his J.D. in 1994 from Widener University School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Law Forum. Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Stern served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force for six years.

Karma Hall devotes her practice to property insurance disputes. She defends breach of contract, bad faith and declaratory judgment actions and has experience at the appellate level as well. Ms. Hall has also rendered bad faith and coverage insurance opinion letters for diverse property insurance carriers in Florida on issues ranging from sinkhole claims handling to Chinese drywall to under-slab leaks. Ms. Hall received her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2004.

Albert Angelo focuses his litigation practice on products liability, personal injury defense and premises liability claims. He also handles estate planning and asset protection matters, including the execution and updating of wills and trusts as well as Series LLCs and Family Limited Partnerships. Mr. Angelo earned his J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation, with honors, from The John Marshall Law School in 2009. 

Amee Patel
focuses her practice in the areas of health care and employment law. Having formerly served as a compliance and litigation attorney with the Illinois Department of Public Health, she has considerable experience with laws and guidelines affecting health care entities. Ms. Patel has also served as an in-house legal counsel/legal consultant with a manufacturer/supplier company, where she counseled and advised the company on a full range of employment law matters. Ms. Patel earned her J.D. and a Health Law Certificate in 2007 from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While there, she was a member/senior editor for the Public Interest Law Reporter from 2005 – 2007.

Brian Zeeck focuses his practice in commercial litigation. He represents small and large businesses, professionals and insurance companies in disputes ranging from complex healthcare fraud to consumer protection cases. He also handles contract disputes, land use and tort defense cases. Mr. Zeeck received his J.D. in 2009 from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Ronald Hasinger focuses his litigation practice in commercial litigation, federal litigation and labor and employment matters. He handles cases involving Section 1983 claims, employment discrimination, union elections and negotiations, and unfair labor practices. Mr. Hasinger earned his J.D. in 2003 from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was a member of the Elder Law Journal. In 2009, he received an LL.M. in Transnational Law from the Tokyo campus of Temple University Beasley School of Law. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Hasinger served as an infantryman and scout with the 25th Infantry Division of the United State Army and, for seven years, as a police officer, detective, and trainer for the City of Raleigh (North Carolina) Police Department.

Jarrod Malone focuses his litigation practice in the areas of professional liability defense, appellate practice and general liability matters involving catastrophic injuries. His clients include physicians, hospitals, dentists and lawyers. Mr. Malone has tried cases to verdict involving ophthalmologic, internal medicine and complex surgical matters. In handling medical malpractice claims, he oversees the entire Medical Review Panel process as well as defending the claims after they are filed in state or federal court. Mr. Malone received his J.D. in 2003 from the Indiana University School of Law.

Kate Van Bokkelen
is a former Deputy Attorney General - Administrative and Regulatory Litigation in the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. She is experienced in all aspects of litigation, including court appearances, case strategies, pleadings, document discovery, depositions, motion practice, oral argument, settlement negotiations and mediation. She also has extensive pre-trial experience, including preparation of joint pre-trial orders, questions for voir dire, jury charges and verdict sheets; preparation and argument of motions in limine; preparation of witnesses; and creation of trial strategies. Ms. Van Bokkelen earned her J.D. in 2006 from DePaul University College of Law.

Jennifer Bunce concentrates her practice in the area of real estate litigation. She represents mortgage lenders and servicers in relation to foreclosure, eviction and title claims filed in Massachusetts state and federal courts, and against claims alleging predatory lending and violation of the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Statute. In 2008, she was named to the Rising Stars list by New England Super Lawyers & Rising Stars magazine. Ms. Bunce earned her J.D. in 2005 from DePaul University College of Law.
