Justin M. Penn, 28, focuses his practice in the area of professional liability litigation. Previously he was a summer associate with Hinshaw, and also with the Chicago, Illinois, firm of Bollinger, Ruberry & Garvey. He received his J.D. in 2003 from The John Marshall Law School. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Penn was an international travel director and also a member of the live sporting event production team for NBC Sports.
Richard S. Kolodziej, 33, focuses his practice on professional liability litigation with special emphasis in the area of medical malpractice defense. In addition, he has significant experience as a plaintiff personal injury litigator, trying cases involving medical malpractice, construction accidents and product liability for 10 years. He is also experienced in matters involving arbitration and mediation. Previously, Mr. Kolodziej was an associate at Goldstein, Fishman, Bender & Romanoff in Chicago. He received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 1996. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.

Charles A. Egner, 36, focuses his practice in the area of professional liability with special emphasis on defending medical professionals and institutions in medical malpractice and personal injury matters. Prior to joining Hinshaw, he was an associate with the Rockford and Chicago offices of Lord, Bissell & Brook LLP. Mr. Egner received his J.D., cum laude, from The John Marshall Law School in 1995, where he was a member of the John Marshall Law Review. He is the recipient of West Publishing's Award for Outstanding Achievement in Civil Procedure.
Mark T. Berhow, 29, focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance coverage, general liability litigation and employment law. He also assists insurers in regulatory compliance and advises non-profit organizations in all areas from formation and governance through employment and other related matters. Prior to joining Hinshaw, Mr. Berhow was an associate with the Minneapolis law firm of McCollum, Crowley, Moschet & Miller, where he maintained an active litigation caseload in the areas of construction law, employment law, insurance coverage and products liability. Mr. Berhow received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota in 2001. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
New York, New York Office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP
Schuyler B. Kraus, 32, focuses his practice in the areas of legal malpractice, professional liability, products liability litigation and commercial litigation. Previously, he was an associate with the New York firm of Edwards & Angell LLP. Mr. Kraus was also, for four years, an assistant corporation counsel for the New York City Law Department. He received his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University in 1999. Prior to his career as an attorney, he was deputy director of the County Court Victim/Witness Unit at the Boulder County District Attorney's Office in Boulder, Colorado. Mr. Kraus is a member of the Bar of the City of New York and the American Bar Association. He was the co-founder and co-president of the Cardozo Advocates for Battered Women.
