On June 4, 2003, the national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP elected a total of seven partners to its Executive Committee. The firm's chairman, Donald L. Mrozek, also appointed two new members to the Management Committee. Members of both committees will serve three-year terms.

The Executive Committee has responsibility for determining partner compensation. The Management Committee is responsible for the overall operations of the firm.

Roy M. Bossen - Mr. Bossen concentrates his practice in corporate health care. He has represented numerous hospitals, physician groups and alternative delivery systems in corporate and regulatory matters. Mr. Bossen has extensive experience in the acquisition and sale of medical practices, structuring and developing integrated systems, including for physicians and hospitals. Mr. Bossen also has significant experience in regulatory, tax exemption and accreditation counseling. He received his B.L.S., magna cum laude, from Boston University, and his J.D. and M.H.A. from St. Louis University.
Kevin J. Burke - Mr. Burke concentrates his practice in the areas of litigation involving medical, commercial and governmental/civil rights matters. He has tried cases to verdict, involving obstetrical, brain-damaged baby, wrongful death, breast cancer and complex surgical matters, construction accidents and injunctive relief in business litigation. He is also a member of the firm's Management Committee and was formerly the Regional Director of Litigation for the firm’s Chicago and metropolitan Chicago offices. Mr. Burke is certified as a mediator of medical legal disputes through the Loyola University Law School Health Law Center. He received his B.A. from Boston Collegein 1978 and his J.D. from the New England School of Law in 1982.
Thomas M. Hamilton - Mr. Hamilton is co-chair of Hinshaw's national Insurance Services Specialty Law Group. His areas of practice include several insurance-related areas, including coverage litigation, reinsurance and excess coverage, corporate and regulatory, insolvency and liquidation, bad faith, and issues of liability in excess of limits. He has served on the faculty of the Insurance School of Chicago and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Hamilton received his B.A., with honors, in Economics and his J.D. from Indiana University.
Laurie S. Randolph - Ms. Randolph was elected as a member "at large" to the Executive Committee. She concentrates her practice in commercial matters, including claims relating to breach of contract, construction and indemnification. She is co-chair of Hinshaw's national Construction Law Specialty Group. Ms. Randolph is an active speaker and author with numerous presentations and publications completed on the subjects of civil procedure, professional liability for the designers of buildings, systems and products. She has lectured and presented course materials on the subjects of discovery, use of expert testimony and trial strategies dealing with various areas of practice. She earned her B.S. from Northern Illinois University and her J.D. from DePaul University.
Joshua G. Vincent - Mr. Vincent was elected as a member "at large" of the Executive Committee. He concentrates his practice on appeals before reviewing courts throughout the country. Since 1983, Mr. Vincent has handled more than 200 appeals. He has appeared before the Illinois Supreme Court in eight cases, all resulting in landmark decisions, including the first two cases in the country to address the common law liability of health maintenance organizations. Roughly one-third of Mr. Vincent’s practice is in the state and federal trial courts. He has represented clients in a variety of industries and subjects, including ERISA, employment discrimination, insurance coverage, breach of contract, attorney discipline, legal malpractice, and premises liability. Mr. Vincent received his liberal arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1980 and his J.D. from DePaul Universityin 1983.

Bethany K. Culp - Ms. Culp is co-chair of Hinshaw's national Insurance Services Specialty Law Group. Her practice focuses on insurance-related matters, including agent and broker liability; primary/excess disputes; commercial general liability coverage; professional liability coverage; and directors and officers' liability coverage. She is a frequent lecturer and has served as an expert witness on insurance coverage issues. She graduated, summa cum laude, from Southern Methodist University in 1974, and received her J.D., magna cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law in 1983.
Rockford, Illinois Office
Charles F. Thomas - Mr. Thomas is the leader of the firm's national Business Transactions Practice Group and Regional Director of Hinshaw's Western Illinois Region. He concentrates his practice in general corporate and business law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate health care law and general business transactions. Mr. Thomas' representation in these areas has ranged from small, private companies to publicly held companies. He has represented publicly held companies in acquisitions as well as serving as outside general counsel on a day-to-day basis. Mr. Thomas has represented clients in state and federal court and has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. He received both his Bachelor's Degree and J.D. from Georgetown University.

Kevin J. Burke and Laurie S. Randolph, in addition to their responsibilities on the Executive Committee, also were named members of the Management Committee. They will serve on the committee along with Chairman Donald L. Mrozek, Managing Partner J. William Roberts and the other existing members of the committee, including John W. Dubbs and Charles F. Thomas.
