Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP Adds Six New Associates

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announces the addition of six new associates to the firm's Illinois and Indiana offices. The new associates include the following:

Chicago, Illinois Office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

Anthony E. Antognoli counsels clients in the areas of taxation and employee benefits. Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Mr. Antognoli was a tax and employee benefits attorney at McGuire Woods, LLP. Mr. Antognoli co-authored, "Fiduciary Duties Under the 'Serious Consideration' Standard," DC Plan Investing, November 2000. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association's Employee Benefits Committee. Mr. Antognoli received his B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois in 1997 and his J.D. and Certificate in Taxation from Loyola University-Chicago School of Law in 2000.

Linnea L. Schramm concentrates her practice in the areas of medical malpractice and general tort and insurance defense. Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Ms. Schramm was a Legal Affairs Associate for Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where her practice concentrated on claims management and contract development under the direction of the Vice President and General Counsel and in conjunction with the Self Insurance Trust Third-Party Administrator. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and Florida. Ms. Schramm received her B.S. in Psychology and Nursing from the University of Florida in 1980 and 1984. She received her M.S. in Nursing from the University of Florida in 1987 and her J.D. from the University of Florida in 1995.

Valerie L. Kahn practiced workers compensation at Kaplan & Sorosky, Ltd. prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP. She authored, "Fighting Sexual Harassment Abroad: The Extraterritorial Reach of Title VII." Ms. Kahn is admitted to Illinois and received her B.A., cum laude, in History from Boston University in 1998. While at Boston University, Ms. Kahn founded Leoth: The CGS Literary Magazine. She received her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2001 where she was a member and Vice-Justice of Phi Alpha Delta's Hay Chapter.

William Yu concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation and general civil litigation, including professional liability, municipal liability, civil rights, product liability, construction and insurance coverage. He has managed significant cases through all phases of general civil litigation, including independent handling of cases to jury trial in U.S. District Court, Cook County and collar counties. Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Mr. Yu was a litigation attorney with Tribler Orpett & Crone. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Alliance of Minority Bar Associations, the Asian American Bar Association (President, 2003-2004) and the Korean American Bar Association. He was recently appointed to the City of Chicago's Commission on Human Relations, Advisory Council on Asian Affairs. Mr. Yu is admitted to practice in Illinois and received his B.A. from Oberlin College in 1990. He received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1996.

Joliet, Illinois Office of Hinshaw & Culbertson

Tammy S. Warden concentrates her practice in the areas of medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability and general liability defense. Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Ms Warden was with Bollinger, Ruberry & Garvey. She is admitted to practice in Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois and the Southern District of Illinois. She is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association. Ms. Warden received a B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science from the University of St. Francis in 1995 and J.D. from Loyola University-Chicago Law School in 1998.

Shererville, Indiana Office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

Scott B. Cockrum concentrates his practice in medical malpractice defense, legal malpractice defense, insurance coverage, appellate advocacy and general liability defense. He also teaches a paralegal program at Calumet College at St. Joseph. Mr. Cockrum is admitted to practice in Indiana, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is a member of the Indiana Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Cockrum received his B.S. in English from the University of Southern Indiana in 1993 and his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 1998. He received his M.A. in English from Indiana State University in 1995.
