Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP Adds New Associates Nationwide

CHICACO ― Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announces the addition of new associates to the firm's Florida office. The new associates include the following:

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

Neil A. Covone, 35, Neil Covone concentrates his practice in the defense of product manufacturers in matters of wrongful death, personal injury and warranty disputes, particularly in the automotive, aviation and engine manufacturing industries. In addition he has significant experience in mass toxic tort litigation. Previously he was an associate for seven years with the firm of Carlton Fields, P.A. where he chaired their Miami office's summer associate program, which is ranked number one in the county by The American Lawyer. He also spent one year with the firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, LLP, and two years with Wampler, Buchanan & Breen, P.A., both located in Miami. Mr. Covone is active in his community. He is an Attorney Guardian Ad Litem in criminal courts, and in 2003 was the recipient of the John Edward Smith Child Advocacy Award from Lawyers for Children America, Inc. Mr. Covone received his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 1995.

James H. Wyman, 48, maintains a litigation practice representing clients in trial and appellate matters at both the state and federal levels. Mr. Wyman created and actively maintains Florida Law Online, a public service website devoted to law in the State of Florida. Previously he was an associate for two years with the Miami law firm of Hicks & Kneale, P.A. He was also an associate with Jorden Burt LLP, and Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Wyman was a law clerk for the Honorable Gerald B. Cope, Jr., Florida Third District Court of Appeal. Mr. Wyman received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law in 1997. He graduated 10th in his law school class. In addition to his other honors, he received Book Awards for contracts, legal writing, administrative law, employment law and environmental law. He also received the 1997College of Law Academic Leadership Award. He was a member of Phi Delta Phi and Seminole Torchbearers, and was an Ausley Scholar. Additionally, during law school Mr. Wyman was the legal research assistant to the president of the university.

Miami, Florida Office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

Colleen A. Hoey, 38, maintains a litigation practice with particular focus on insurance coverage and class-action defense related to insurance and consumer issues. Previously she was a litigation associate for four years with the Miami law firm of Shutts & Bowen, LLP, and prior to that for four years with the law firm of Burd, Lozano & Zacherl, LLP, also in Miami. Ms. Hoey received her J.D., summa cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law in 1995, where she was the Associate Editor of the William Mitchell Law Review, the Editor of The Opinion student newspaper, and a winner of the Trial Advocacy Competition.

Jody A. Tuttle, 28, maintains a litigation practice devoted exclusively to workers’ compensation defense. Previously she was an associate for one year with the Miami Lakes, Florida, law firm of Pyszka, Blackmon, Levy, Mowers & Kelley. She also served as a summer law clerk for the Law Offices of James Walker, P.A., in Miami. Ms. Tuttle received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2004, where she was a member of the Law Review, Psychology, Public Policy and Law, the recipient of the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement for the Highest Grade in Contracts, the recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and a quarterfinalist at the Moot Court Competition. While in law school, Ms. Tuttle participated in the University’s summer program. She studied in London, England. In addition, Ms. Tuttle was an Academic Achievement Program Dean’s Fellow, working with first-year law students in an academic support program.
