Hal H. Flowers
Hal Flowers focuses his practice in business and commercial transactions. He provides clients with advice and counseling related to general commercial transactions, commercial disputes and intellectual property matters, such as the establishment and protection of trademark and copyrights. In addition, Mr. Flowers assists clients with federal, state and nationwide regulatory issues, including those involving regulation by state and federal alcohol authorities, as well as U.S. Customs, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Mr. Flowers also represents clients in the hospitality, food and beverage industries in licensing, land use, transactional and regulatory matters, as well as in litigation. For alcohol manufacturers, importers and wholesalers, Mr. Flowers provides advice involving the many different legal areas of law (corporate, transactional, licensing, intellectual property, distributor rights, advertising, among others) confronting suppliers of alcohol beverages throughout the country.
Mr. Flowers’ clients include restaurants and hotels; alcohol manufacturers, importers and wholesalers; and bottled water, juice and food companies.
Mr. Flowers joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in October 2009. He is a member of the firm’s Commercial Transactions Practice Group. From 2000 to 2009, he was an associate at Holland & Knight LLP.
Mr. Flowers speaks regularly to a variety of hospitality, restaurant and similar industry associations and organizations on a wide range of transactional and regulatory topics.
He has addressed both the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators and the National Alcoholic Beverage Control Association.
Between the completion of his undergraduate studies and graduate work, Hal lived and worked in both the Middle East and Southeast Asia for extended periods, teaching English as a foreign language.
