Geoffrey D. Sessions
Geoffrey Sessions is an experienced trial attorney who concentrates his practice on national, regional and local representation of clients. He has extensive experience in state, federal and administrative proceedings.
Mr. Sessions’ practice encompasses the litigation of claims involving professional liability, medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, commercial litigation, construction litigation, real estate, premises liability, general liability and a variety of insurance matters.
He serves as counsel for several national companies and represents their interests throughout the country.
Mr. Sessions joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in August 1999. Previously he practiced civil litigation in Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Sessions began his legal career as an assistant state attorney, gaining valuable trial experience.
Mr. Sessions is Co-Partner-in-Charge of Hinshaw’s Jacksonville office. He is active in the firm’s practice groups and serves as a mentor coordinator for the Jacksonville office.
In addition to being a member of The Florida Bar and an appointed member of its Grievance Committee, Mr. Sessions is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Jacksonville Bar Association, Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel and the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. He is a past member of the American Bar Association.
During law school, Mr. Sessions was a member of the Mock Trial Board, Moot Court Board and Phi Delta Phi.
He holds the AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for ethics and legal ability.
Mr. Sessions has spoken on legal matters and conducted seminars where he has addressed civic groups, attorneys, industry professionals and students.
He frequently speaks at in-house seminars and meetings on legal issues and client industry-specific challenges. Mr. Sessions’ presentations include “Preventing and Defending Liability Claims,” at the S.V. Jupiter, Inc. annual meeting, in Sanford, Florida, in February 2010.
Mr. Sessions is active in community and church activities and has served on the board of directors of various civic organizations. He is also active in both state and national political campaigns.
Geoff resides in Jacksonville with his wife and two children. His hobbies and interests include fitness training, bicycling and coaching little league athletics.
