SPRINGFIELD, Ill. ― The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announced today that
Geri Lynn Arrindell has joined the firm as an associate in its
Springfield,
Illinois, office. She previously served as an Assistant Attorney General in the General Law Bureau of the Illinois Attorney General’s office.

Ms. Arrindell focuses her practice in commercial litigation matters, including employment law, governmental affairs and regulation. She has diverse litigation experience representing state agencies and government employees. As an Assistant Attorney General at the Illinois Attorney General’s office, she handled employment law, personal injury and civil rights cases before state boards and commissions and in federal court.
Ms. Arrindell is licensed by the state of Illinois as a Clinical Social Worker. Prior to her legal career, she served as the Director of Program Services for the Community-Based Division of The Hope Institute for Children, where she developed the agency’s group homes for children with disabilities, and was a member of management’s labor relations and negotiation team.
Among her numerous professional endeavors, she is a member of the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association, Sangamon County Bar Association and the Lincoln-Douglas Inn of Court. Ms. Arrindell is also a member of the Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership, and is a past recipient of the YWCA Women of Excellence Award. She served on Springfield’s Mayor Leadership 2020 Strategic Planning Task Force, and is a former board member of Leadership Springfield Association. Active in several community organizations, Ms. Arrindell is a troop leader for the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois and served as a mentor for Big Brother Big Sister and Sangamon County Juvenile Probation Division.
She holds a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law (2006), and a Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1996). She earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Clark Atlanta University in 1995.
