Five Attorneys Elected to Capital Partnership

CHICAGO /ROCKFORD, Ill./PORTLAND, Ore./TAMPA, Fla. National law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP has elected five attorneys to capital partnership. They are:

Peter R. Jarvis (Portland) practices in the area of litigation, with a focus on attorney professional responsibility, legal ethics matters and risk management, as well as general contract and business matters. He advises lawyers, law firms and corporate legal departments in disciplinary defense and ethics matters, and serves as an expert witness in such matters. Mr. Jarvis is the partner-in-charge of the firm's Portland office.

Steven D. Lehner (Tampa) has a diverse general liability litigation practice. His areas of focus include the defense of insurance companies and self-insured clients in the areas of premises liability, dram shop/liquor liability and automobile negligence. His practice also emphasizes litigation of ERISA and PIP claims.

Thomas Y. Mandler (Chicago) has for more than 30 years focused his practice on representing management in all types of labor and employment law matters. He represents employers on a national basis in maintaining non-union status as well as in collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration proceedings, and strikes and injunctions. He has practiced before federal, state and local governmental agencies enforcing labor, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action and occupational safety and health laws. Mr. Mandler devotes a substantial part of his practice to proactive training of company supervisors in an attempt to prevent or minimize costly legal problems.

John W. Sheller (Los Angeles) is the partner-in-charge of the firm's Los Angeles office. For more than 26 years, John Sheller has defended lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers, insurance agents, real estate brokers and appraisers in professional malpractice actions and malicious prosecutions.

Gregory T. Snyder (Rockford) has a diverse litigation practice, with a focus in the areas of medical defense litigation, health care law and hospital risk management. He also defends a large number of municipalities in northern Illinois against claims of civil rights discrimination and personal injury claims. Mr. Snyder has represented businesses in contract and product liability litigation, and defended employers before the Illinois Department of Employment Security and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
