Donald O'Brien focuses his trial practice in the areas of medical litigation, insurance coverage and commercial litigation.

He has represented business around the country in a wide range of matters, including products liability, contract disputes, construction litigation, securities fraud, trade secrets and RICO.
Professional Background
Mr. O’Brien joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in March 2001. He is a member of the American Bar Association. 

In 2005 Mr. O’Brien was named to the Super Lawyer list in the area of General Litigation by Illinois Super Lawyers magazine. Since 2007, he has been named annually to the Super Lawyer list in the area of Construction Litigation.

He is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network, where he was selected by his peers as a Leading Lawyer in Commercial Litigation and Products Liability Defense Law. In addition, he holds the AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for ethics and legal ability.

Mr. O'Brien served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1973.
