Chicago, December 15, 2004 -- Dan Boho, a partner in the Chicago office of national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, is now in demand when it comes to representing the owners or managers of buildings that are involved in high profile disasters. Along these lines, Boho has just been retained to represent the owners of the LaSalle Bank Building, 135 S. LaSalle Street in Chicago, following a devastating fire that made national news and caused the building to close for days.
Boho also represents the managers of the Cook County Administration Building at 69 West Washington Street where six workers died and many were injured in a fatal fire last fall. In addition, he represents the building management of the John Hancock Center in a lawsuit arising from the March 2002 accident which involved scaffolding falling from the 42 floor, killing three people.
Boho’s retention on these high profile cases has earned him recognition as one of the City of Chicago’s top six hot-shot attorneys and top two litigators by the City’s top business publication, Crain’s Chicago Business (“Big Cases Big Lawyers, November 15, 2004 issue).
Also significant, Boho is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America.
Mr. Boho has a national trial practice with verdicts in Illinois, California, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and appearances as pro hac vice counsel in 18 states. He concentrates his practice in the trial of commercial disputes, construction, products liability and catastrophic injury matters as well as business disputes. He has handled numerous depositions in Great Britain and represented clients from Japan, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Italy. For 15 years Mr. Boho has served as National Litigation Counsel for a Fortune 500, United States-based international management services company and as primary state counsel for one of the largest transportation companies in the United States.
Mr. Boho has served as the President of the Trial Lawyer's Club of Chicago, the Chairman of the Commerce Litigation Section of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, the Justice of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and on the Board of Directors of the Society of Trial Lawyers. He served on the general assembly of the Illinois State Bar Association and on the long range planning committee of the Chicago Bar Association. He is also a member of the Advocates Society, DRI and Illinois Association Defense Trial Counsel. Mr. Boho joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in May 1977. He serves on the firm's Executive Committee and as a Regional Director of the firm's litigation practice.
Mr. Boho is the past chairman of the Polish American Association, a Chicago-based community service not-for-profit organization. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Heartland Alliance, Travelers and Immigrants Aid and the Japan American Society.
He received his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law.
