Practice Focus
Clint Robison is a highly regarded employment attorney who provides counseling, litigation and risk management services to medium- and large-sized public and private entities.

He handles all aspects of employment litigation and advice, including wage and hour matters, discrimination claims, employment contracts, trade secret issues, retaliation claims, sexual harassment claims, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) issues. His clients include financial institutions, restaurants, manufacturers, insurance companies and other business entities. Mr. Robison also defends employment class actions and manages complex litigation. He has defended matters before the Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Fair Employment & Housing (DFEH) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). He has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on wage and hour issues.

Mr. Robison's clients have also sought his services to conduct timely internal corporate investigations into sensitive and confidential matters touching on a variety of human resources issues. He has also advised on the implementation and use of wage and hour compliance systems. Mr. Robison has successfully tried federal and state cases and has engaged in hundreds of arbitrations and mediations, including complex and multi-plaintiff matters.
Professional Background
Mr. Robison joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in June 2005. Previously he spent eight years in the Los Angeles office of Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley where he was a shareholder for the last six years.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Robison worked for a large foreign conglomerate on its international petroleum trading desk, where he was engaged in the import and export of petroleum, steel and other raw materials. He and his team received commendations for their work, including “Most Profitable Team” on both a national and worldwide level.

Mr. Robison is a member of the Steering Committee of Hinshaw’s Labor & Employment Practice Group and Chair of the Employment Practice Liability subgroup. He also is the Los Angeles office’s coordinator of the firm’s mentoring program.

He is active in the legal and business communities, including membership in the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, Society for Human Resources Management, Professional Liability Underwriting Society and the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA). He is a past member of the Government Affairs Committee for PIHRA, and testified before California’s Employment Development Department (EDD) on behalf of employer groups concerning the implementation of employment legislation. He also has experience working with members of Congress in evaluating pending banking legislation.

Mr. Robison speaks Spanish fluently.
Publications and Presentations
Mr. Robison has written several articles concerning employment issues published in the Daily Journal, Employment Management Today, HR Advisor and HR Staffing Journal. His publications include “Contingent Workers: A Predictable Gamble, Staffing Management,” published in HR Staffing, June 2005.

In July 2009, Mr. Robison was featured in an interview on the Legal Broadcast Network entitled “Textual Harassment, Nothing to ‘Lol’ About.”

In addition, Mr. Robison is frequently quoted in various newspapers and periodicals regarding issues of importance to employers. He was quoted in the July 15, 2009 issue of the National Law Journal in the cover story on text messaging and harassment. He was also quoted in LA Daily News in “Two Guys Gone Bad,” in his capacity as a defense trial lawyer for the Los Angeles Police Department.

He has spoken before various human resources groups, insurance group and the Los Angeles County Bar’s Employment Section. His presentations include:

Community Service Activities
Mr. Robison serves as a volunteer in several local community organizations, focusing on coaching youth sports. He is the recipient of the 2009 award for Knapp Ranch Baseball Coach of the Year, Coach Pitch.

He also served as a Cub Scout leader for several years and received the Pack 333 Exceptional Leadership and Service Award every year from 2003 to 2007.
