Clare Connor Ranalli concentrates her legal practice in corporate health care. She represents hospitals and physicians regarding a broad range of regulatory issues before the Illinois Departments of Public Health, Health Care and Family Services, Professional and Financial Regulation, and the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board.
Ms. Ranalli also focuses on corporate risk management, confidentiality and privacy issues, compliance, medical staff disputes, medical staff by-laws, and general corporate health care, including corporate organization, mergers and acquisitions, tax, real estate and finance. She serves as general counsel to health care facilities.
Ms. Ranalli joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in May 1986. She is a past member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
She is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network, where she was selected by her peers as a Leading Lawyer in the category of Governmental / Municipal / Lobbying & Administrative Law, as well as Health Law. Ms. Ranalli also holds the AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for ethics and legal ability. In addition, since 2008 Ms. Ranalli has been included annually on the
Super Lawyers list in the area of Health Care by
Illinois Super Lawyers magazine.
Ms. Ranalli is a member of the board of directors of the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys. She is also a member of its Corporate Governance and Bylaws Committee and a former member of its Program Committee for the 2007 Annual Health Law Symposium. Her professional affiliations also include the American Health Lawyers Association. Ms. Ranalli is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, where she served as the 2007 Chair of the Administrative Law Committee. In addition, Ms. Ranalli is a member of the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
In the Fall of 2005, Ms. Ranalli completed intensive training in mediation from the faculty of Pepperdine University School of Law’s top-ranked Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, and is a Certified Mediator in the Cook County Court-Annexed Major Case Civil Mediation Program.
Ms. Ranalli is an active writer and speaker. Her publications include co-authorship of an article on hospital directors’ and officers’ liability for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. In addition, she authored “Form 990 Released on December 20, 2007,” a Legal Health Update published in the March 2008 edition of
Chicago Hospital News.
