Commercial Litigator and Business Counselor Alan I. Greene Joins the Chicago Office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

Chicago, April 6, 2005 – Respected commercial litigator and business counselor Alan I. Greene has joined the Chicago office of national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP as a partner.

For 35 years, Mr. Greene has concentrated his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, employment, environmental and antitrust and trade regulation law. He has handled matters involving restrictive covenants/non-compete agreements, trade secrets, employment discrimination, contracts, business torts, antitrust, trade regulation, environmental law, bankruptcy, insurance coverage and ERISA disputes, unfair competition, manufacturer/distributor relationships, securities matters and constitutional law.

Currently, Mr. Greene is defending a manufacturer in multiple Superfund lawsuits in Illinois and related environmental administrative proceedings. He also is involved in the ongoing representation of a corporation in actions in England and Australia against former employees and their relatives on embezzlement charges and related coverage disputes with the insurer. These cases are representative of many high profile cases he has handled over his successful career.

Previously he was a partner for 15 years in the Chicago office of Michael Best & Friedrich (formerly Schwartz & Freeman). In addition, he spent 20 years with the law firm of Chadwell & Kayser, Ltd., first as an associate and then as a partner and officer of the firm. Mr. Greene has been recognized by his peers as a Leading Lawyer in the category of Commercial Litigation. In addition, he holds the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell for ethics and legal ability. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association (Professional Responsibility and Judicial Evaluation Committees), the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Additionally, Mr. Greene is a member of the Litigation Forensics Board of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Mr. Greene has been active in many areas of his community. He is a lifetime board member and past president of the Council for Jewish Elderly, and is currently a board member of the Hillels of Illinois Governing Commission. Mr. Greene also is a member of the President’s Council of Regents of Loyola University Chicago.

Mr. Greene received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1969 and his B.B.A., with honors, from the University of Wisconsin in 1966. He is a respected guest presenter in matters of business counseling, commercial litigation and antitrust topics.
