Corinne Heggie concentrates her practice in the insurance field in the areas of public officials and employees errors and omissions, employment practices liability and school board legal liability. She served as claims counsel for the wrap up of construction of the new Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Ms. Heggie has served as claims counsel for the St. Louis Area Insurance Trust and the Illinois School Insurance Cooperative, both of which are multi-jurisdictional insurance purchasing cooperatives. She has represented various local units of government and state and local officials in litigation involving Section 1983 claims as well as state law tort claims.
Ms. Heggie also concentrates on litigating consumer class action cases involving claims brought under various state and federal laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. She has experience with state and federal regulatory investigations into the business practices of debt collection agencies and attorneys, including the Illinois and Florida Attorneys General, the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation and the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission.

Ms. Heggie joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP as an associate in August 2001. Previously she was a law clerk with the firm since January 2000. During law school, she served as an extern at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office in the Criminal Appeals Division.
She is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) and the Defense Research Institute, where she is a member of its Governmental Liability Committee.
During her tenure as a law clerk at Hinshaw, Ms. Heggie was directly involved in editing the Second Edition of "
Illinois Municipal Tort Liability,” published by Lexis Publishing, under the direction of author and Hinshaw partner,
Steven M. Puiszis. Her other publications include “

Ms. Heggie is active at Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Glenview, Illinois, where she is a member of its Women’s Club, and is a coordinator for its Meals on Wheels Program. She has served as a substitute teacher for religious education classes for first grade students. Ms. Heggie and her family also participate annually in the Be-Friend-A-Family Program.
