Charles A. Egner

Practice Focus
Charles Egner is a litigator who focuses his practice in the area of professional liability. He is experienced in defending both medical professionals and institutions in medical malpractice and personal injury matters. He also has a strong background in handling insurance coverage matters, including coverage litigation.

Mr. Egner is involved in all aspects of litigation defense, including developing defense strategies; taking the lead in depositions; preparing physicians, nurses and experts for deposition; and drafting and arguing motions. 
Professional Background
Mr. Egner joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in June 2004. Previously, he was an associate for nine years in the Rockford and Chicago offices of Lord, Bissell & Brook LLP.

Mr. Egner is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.

His professional awards and honors include West Publishing's Award for Outstanding Achievement in Civil Procedure. As well, Mr. Egner has been rated by Martindale-Hubbell for ethics and legal ability.
Publications and Presentations
Mr. Egner has prepared programs for the in-house education of staff nurses in the areas of deposition preparation and medical record documentation. In addition, he has presented on the topic of medical record confidentiality and access issues.
