Yvette Boutaugh is a litigator who focuses her multi-faceted practice in the areas of products liability defense, transportation liability defense, premises liability defense, personal injury defense and other general liability matters.  She represents various professionals and organizations in malpractice claims including physicians, long term care facilities, accountants and attorneys.  

Ms. Boutaugh’s clients include individuals, insurers and a broad range of businesses, including large corporations and small businesses, manufacturers, retailers, national communications companies, distributors of nationally recognized products, and international restaurant chains.  She was part of a defense team that represented a globally known restaurant chain against allegations of food borne illness and won a defense verdict at trial.   She also represents employers in a variety of industries in the defense of workers’ compensation claims, and has tried several cases before the Missouri Division of Labor and Industrial Relations and Illinois Workers Compensation Commission, having received a defense verdict in a case where the damages included permanent brain injury and the last demand was $500,000.

Professional Background

Ms. Boutaugh joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in December 2011. She previously worked as an associate at Brinker & Doyen, L.L.P. in Clayton, Missouri and Moser & Marsalek, P.C., in St. Louis, Missouri. In law school, she was a clerk for the in house legal team at Peabody Energy, and was the recipient of a Dean’s Scholarship.

Ms. Boutaugh serves as a Board Member for the St. Louis County Bar Membership Committee and is a member of the Defense Research Institute.
