Rory Mattson focuses his practice in business and real estate litigation.  Mr. Mattson represents businesses and their owners in all stages of a lawsuit, from complaints to appeals in state and federal court. Mr. Mattson also represents mortgage lenders and servicers in claims involving lending agreements, loan transfers and assignments, foreclosures and title issues. Along with his litigation practice, Mr. Mattson also serves clients on everyday legal matters such as business formation, real estate transactions, regulatory compliance and risk assessment.

Professional Background

Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Mr. Mattson worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Minnesota. There, he served in the natural resources division where he handled litigation on behalf of state agencies involving administrative law, pollution control and regulation, and land-use issues. During law school, Mr. Mattson clerked in Target Corporations' law department.

Mr. Mattson plays basketball, soccer and golf in various leagues throughout the Twin Cities metro area. When winter arrives in Minnesota, Mr. Mattson enjoys Nordic and Telemark skiing.
