Raven Burke focuses her practice in personal injury and property defense, as well as white collar litigation. She has substantial experience in a number of areas of law, including complex civil issues involving employment disputes, commercial disputes, contract disputes, civil rights, qui tam claims, product liability, and matters regarding the Lanham Act.
She is involved in all phases of the litigation process from drafting motions and jury instructions to settlement conferences and trials.
Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in October 2014, Ms. Burke was a law clerk to The Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. She also served as a post-graduate extern to Judge Coleman. Ms. Burke clerked for The Honorable Arlander Keys, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, and was an appeals analyst for Commissioner Larry R. Rogers, Jr., Cook County Board of Review.
During law school, Ms. Burke spent a semester in Beijing, China as a legal extern with the U.S. Commercial Service. She also served two internships in the United States, one in public service and the other in the private sector.
In addition to her other law school accomplishments, Ms. Burke was a student attorney with the Child Advocacy Law Clinic. She also served one year as President of the Black Law Students' Alliance.
During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Burke spent time in China studying at the Capital University of Economics and Business, in Beijing.
