Kevin Schauer assists attorneys with matters and projects involving municipal law and health care law. He conducts both legal and general research, performs financial analysis and has experience with TIF eligibility studies, collective bargaining agreements, redevelopment plans and analytical reports.

Mr. Schauer has a strong background in both medicine and public service, and is familiar with municipal issues and government issues and regulations. In addition, he has substantial experience assisting attorneys with matters involving financial and operational aspects in the field of healthcare, with particular emphasis on the analysis of providing emergency medical services in both the government and private sectors.

Professional Background

Mr. Schauer joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in March 2012. Previously he was a paralegal at Nicolosi & Associates.

Prior to his paralegal career, Mr. Schauer was Director of Operations at ATS Medical Services, in Rockford, Illinois. He has been an Illinois-licensed Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic since 1985, and worked for 23 years as a paramedic, flight paramedic and an emergency communications dispatcher.

Community/Civic Activities

Mr. Schauer served for 11 years as a volunteer firefighter for Boone County Rural Fire Protection District #2.
