Kara Miller is a legal nurse consultant focused primarily on assisting attorneys with medical malpractice cases. She is also experienced in assisting with personal injury and class action cases.

Ms. Miller has more than eight years of clinical nursing experience in a number of healthcare settings. These include medical-surgical, telemetry/intensive care, emergency department and physician office. Her clinical skills and experience are assets she uses as she assists attorneys with review and analysis of medical records and deposition testimony, identification of areas of liability, literature research and sourcing and interacting with medical experts.

Ms. Miller joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in August 2008. Previously she was for four years a legal nurse consultant at HelplerBroom.

From 1994 to 2002, Ms. Miller worked as a registered nurse in a hospital setting. From 1997 to 2002 she also worked as a registered nurse in a physician’s office.

In 1997, Ms. Miller obtained RNC certification in medical surgical nursing. Her additional training includes a trauma nursing core course and a field nursing (pre-hospital RN) course. Ms. Miller was certified in basic life support as well as advanced cardiac life support.

In addition to her other academic achievements, Ms. Miller completed the Medicolegal Death Investigator Training Course at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2007.

Community/Civic Activities

Ms. Miller has been a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was trained in Disaster Preparedness.
