Benjamin Noren focuses his practice in class action and consumer litigation. He is directly involved in all phases of the litigation process, and, in addition to his consumer and class action work, handles consumer finance matter/mortgage related litigation, has substantial experience in the areas of personal injury defense, premises liability defense, environmental law, electronic discovery, maritime law, aviation law and telecommunications law, as well as with Section 1983, Title VII, the Federal Employers Liability Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and all aspects of New York, New Jersey and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Professional Background

Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Mr. Noren was for more than three years an attorney in public service for The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where he handled cases in the areas of personal injury, property damage, contracts and employment matters. He began his legal career with a personal injury firm in Queens, New York.

During law school, Mr. Noren served a legal internship with a Flushing, New York firm, and was an extern with the U.S. States Attorney's Office.

Mr. Noren's law school accomplishments include having been a member of the Dean's List and the recipient of a full merit scholarship. Mr. Noren was awarded the 2008 Clyne Fellowship, and named a Faculty Fellow. In addition, Mr. Noren participated in the 16th annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, placing ninth out of more than 230 participants. During law school Mr. Noren worked as a research assistant for Professor Harold I. Abramson, and he studied abroad for a summer at the University of Potsdam, where he studied mediation and comparative constitutional law
