Barbara K. Myers focuses her practice primarily in construction and business litigation and government law. On the business side, she represents contractors and defends professional liability claims made against design professionals, including architects, engineers, and surveyors. On the government side, she advises local government bodies on municipal law, Freedom of Information Act, and Open Meetings Act issues. Ms. Myers also has experience negotiating public sector union contracts and representing units of government in labor arbitration and administrative proceedings.

Professional Background

Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in January 2014, Ms. Myers was an associate attorney at another Springfield, Illinois firm. During law school, Ms. Myers served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Sue Myerscough, Illinois Appellate Court, Fourth District. Before attending law school, Ms. Myers spent three years teaching English in Japan.
