Aric T. Stienessen

Practice Focus
Aric Stienessen represents lenders, investment banks, investors and borrowers in commercial debt and equity finance transactions across a variety of industries. He also represents businesses and real property developers in sales and purchase transactions involving commercial real property. In addition, Mr. Stienessen has a business succession and estate planning practice.

Mr. Stienessen’s transactional background is substantial. In addition to his finance and real estate practice, he is particularly well-versed in tax and general finance matters, having worked as a tax consultant and financial analyst for nearly a decade. He also handles transactions involving mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, securities and corporate organization and governance. When necessary, Mr. Stienessen litigates on behalf of his clients in matters such as breach of contract and foreclosures.
Professional Background
Mr. Stienessen joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in August 2007. Previously he was for two years an attorney at Jensen & Sondrall, P.A., in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Mr. Stienessen also spent nearly a year at Blethen, Gage & Krause, PLLP, and was in private practice for a number of years.

In addition to his other law school achievements, Mr. Stienessen received a Dean’s Merit Tuition Scholarship. He also received a CALI Award for Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Stienessen was a senior financial analyst for General Mills, Inc. in their Child Cereals / Sales Channel unit. He was also a tax consultant for more than four years at Arthur Andersen, LLP.

Mr. Stienessen is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association. From 2001 until 2010 he was a Minnesota Supreme Court Qualified Neutral (mediation / arbitration).
