Ambrose V. McCall, a Partner in the Peoria, Illinois office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, was interviewed today on Peoria’s "The Greg and Dan Show," a morning show on 1470 WMBD AM radio.
The discussion focused initially on the case of an ambulance company employee who was fired after posting comments critical of her supervisor on her Facebook page. The National Labor Relations Board ultimately brought an action against the employer. Mr. McCall provided comments about the case and the arguments made by both sides in it. He later provided commentary about the employment-related implications of other social media communications as well, and gave suggestions as to where different types of employers might inform themselves about addressing adverse social media postings and the means by which these businesses might preemptively increase their legal protections.
