Aimee E. Delaney

Practice Focus
Aimee Delaney practices in commercial litigation, with a concentration in employment litigation and counseling. Ms. Delaney represents employers nationally in state and federal courts and administrative agencies, as well as alternative forums such as arbitration and mediation.

Ms. Delaney’s practice includes a wide variety of employment litigation matters, including the defense of class action lawsuits, individual claims of discrimination, harassment and wage and hour violations, and breach of contract disputes. As a result, Ms. Delaney is regularly involved in matters pertaining to the following statutes: Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, wage and hour laws and the state counterparts of these laws.

Ms. Delaney also counsels employers in connection with reduction in force plans, termination and severance agreements, disciplinary action and employment contracts.

Ms. Delaney’s commercial litigation practice includes serving as Special Assistant Attorney General in the defense of various Illinois State agencies in major class action cases challenging the constitutionality of state policies. She has expanded her class action experience into toxic tort defense and complex litigation. Ms. Delaney’s general commercial practice also includes representing corporate clients in general litigation matters.

Ms. Delaney joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in April 2001.

In 2012, Ms. Delaney was a recipient of the Jury Verdict Reporter “Trial Lawyer Excellence Award.”

In 2011, Ms. Delaney was selected by her peers and named by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer Magazine as one of the top "40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch."

Ms. Delaney has been included multiple times on the Rising Stars list in the area of Employment & Labor by Illinois Super Lawyers magazine. Recipients of this award have practiced law for less than 10 years or are 40 years old or younger. Additionally, she has been recognized by her peers as a Leading Lawyer in the area of Employment Law.

Ms. Delaney teaches employment law and labor law at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.
