Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is a national, full-service law firm with more than 460 lawyers. Founded in 1934, our firm is headquartered in Chicago and maintains 25 offices in 12 states: Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Wisconsin.
Firm Governance
Hinshaw is governed by a seven-person Management Committee. Members of the committee are:

The Management Committee is supported by a 25-person Executive Committee that meets quarterly and is charged with electing new partners and recommending strategic and operational improvements for consideration by the Management Committee.
Practice Group Structure
Hinshaw is organized into four national practice groups. The groups and their chairs are:
Business Transactions: Chaired by David R. Mylrea, Minneapolis
Business Litigation: Chaired by J. William Roberts, Chicago and Springfield
Lawyers for Professionals: Chaired by Ronald E. Mallen, San Francisco
Defense Litigation: Chaired by Dan L. Boho, Chicago, and Terese A. Drew, St. Louis
These practice groups are supplemented by 19 specialty groups formed around an area of law or industry. Each attorney is assigned to one of the national practice groups, and can participate in one or more specialty group based upon his or her legal or industry expertise.
Hinshaw's national practice and specialty group structure brings the talent and experience of the entire firm to bear on matters originating in any office. The structure promotes the exchange of information on a national basis, and allows for high-quality client service within and among the various practices and offices. Our practice and specialty groups provide a mechanism for focusing educational activities, establishing databases on law and procedures within the practice area, and applying those skills to a given matter.

Hinshaw ranks 92nd on the National Law Journal’s 2009 survey of the 250 largest law firms in the United States based on number of attorneys. In 2008 the firm ranked 97th. In 2007 the firm ranked 88th. In 2006 the firm ranked 91st. In 2005, the firm ranked 93rd, and in 2004, it was 98th.
