Angeli C. Aragon

Practice Focus
Angeli Aragon represents clients in a variety of litigation matters, with emphasis on labor and employment law, commercial litigation and professional liability. In her labor and employment practice, Ms. Aragon handles matters involving wage and hour, discrimination, disability, harassment, retaliation, trade secrets and contracts. She also assists clients in making risk management and human resources decisions. Ms. Aragon has experience defending class actions and managing complex litigation.

In her commercial litigation practice, she handles matters involving contract disputes, business torts and unfair business practices. Ms. Aragon’s professional liability practice is focused on the defense of lawyers and other professionals, including malicious prosecution matters.

In addition, Ms. Aragon has experience handling appeals, and has participated in the following published appellate decisions:
  • Viner v. Sweet, et al., 30 Cal.4th 1232 (2003); for the San Francisco Bar Association, and the Beverly Hills Bar Association, as Amici Curaie on behalf of the defendants and appellants.
  • Harris v. Rudin Richman & Appel, et al. (Harris II) (2002) 95 Cal. App.4th 1332.
Professional Background
Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in April 2007, Ms. Aragon was an associate in the Los Angeles office of Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley, focusing on the litigation of business, intellectual property, professional liability, employment, environmental and coverage matters. Prior to Ropers, she was an associate at the law firms of Parker Mills & Patel, LLP and Ruben & McGonigle, LLP, where her practice focused on the litigation of professional liability, commercial, employment and coverage matters, as well as appeals.

While in law school, Ms. Aragon served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Cynthia Holcomb Hall, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Ms. Aragon is the 2010 – 2011 President of the Philippine American Bar Association of Los Angeles (PABA). She served on PABA’s Board of Governors as PABA’s Treasurer from 1998 to 2009.

Ms. Aragon is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association where she is active in the Amicus Brief Committee and the Appellate Courts Committee. She served on the Board of Governors for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA). Her professional memberships also include the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Pasadena Bar Association.

She speaks Tagalog.
